Woodfalls Juniors c.1995

The first Woodfalls junior Band was formed in the 1930's.  It later formed the nucleus of the successful "senior" band of the 40's and 50's which went on to compete in two National Finals in London.

Later, in the mid-fifties, when the senior band was undergoing a player shortage, a junior band was formed by Cliff Kingshott to alleviate the situation.  This band was as successful as its predecessor and went on to win the West of England Championships in 1967 with two further appearances in 1968 and 1969.

The current junior band was originally formed by Ron Bligh and Reg Spreadbury, (see Woodfalls Concert Brass).  It was rejuvenated in 1994 by Andy McCullum who later handed over to James Cooper.  In December 1995 a very special Wessex Winter Championships saw all three bands (SWT Woodfalls, Woodfalls Concert Brass & Woodfalls Juniors) win their sections.

The current junior band is conducted by Lawrence Butchart.
